Oxted was a dicey affair, a 30-over-a-side dash, played out in damp conditions. With 72, James manfully helmed our misfiring innings to 150-9 - a total we in no way looked like we could defend, especially when the opposition were poised at 115-4 with ten overs left. But two double-wicket overs - one from Finlay, bowling beautifully, another from their first-eleven opening bowler, generously loaned for the day - swung the game decisively our way, helped by some magnificent catching (I'm looking at you, Judge Waddington). Pitlarge took the final wicket with eight balls and eight runs left. Pandemonium.
