Hampstead - scorecard (lacunose)
A damp day ended in a draw, as we couldn't quite reel in Hampstead's semi-imposing score of 274, reaching 210-6 in the same number of overs. Hampstead's innings was built on lusty blows and a sizable portion of luck - some, it must be said, donated by us - as combined bowling efforts, manful to a man, couldn't quite stymy the assault. Andrew Purcell, Ollie Thicknesse and Nick Cowley took two apiece, the former pair closing out the innings with skill and no small degree of gumption. We began well in reply, JT looking especially good, but the skipper's early six was a deceptive omen: needing 180 from the final 20, we stuttered - JT's innings unjustly cut short on 62 - and needed Som and Jack, who finished unbeaten on 45 after an unreasonably gorgeous flurry of boundaries, to steer us to safety.
